MBBS in Belize: Course Overview

In Belize, the medical program is referred to as M.D (Doctor of Medicine), following a curriculum based on the United States model. This medical degree holds recognition from the Medical Council of India (MCI) as equivalent to the MBBS degree in India. Upon completion of the MD program in Belizean medical colleges, Indian students become eligible to practice in Indian hospitals upon successfully clearing the MCI Screening Test or FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Exam).
The M.D course typically spans over 4 years, encompassing both basic and clinical medical sciences. The curriculum delves into fundamental medical sciences, covering disease principles, available therapies, and legal and ethical aspects of medical practice. Additionally, the clinical medical science component includes rotations in Pediatrics, Surgery, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and various elective specialties, allowing students to explore specialized areas of interest.
